Subject: Thinking about Linux :)
Good moring :) Im thinking about get my self Linux. But im not really sure about witch one to take at first, I done some reading on this forum, and found that Ubuntu is a good one to start with. But im aswell thinking about Linux Mint aswell. Im not a fancy programmer nor know that much about any thing like that. But i want to try this out :) Im also worryd about if my comp parts is going to work on Linux. CPU : Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 @ 3.00GHz RAM : Kingstone hyperX 4GB RAM Graffic Card : HIS Radeon 3850 TurboX IceQ Limited Edition (have two of those in Crossfire) Motherbord : Not really sure HD: Not sure what the name is. but its atleast an SATA 2 :P Hope there is someone out there that can help me :) Best regards Rolf

Since Mint can be downloaded as a Live CD, There is no worries about compatibility issues. Just download the Iso. Burn a Image cd. Set bios to cdrom boot first in boot order. Put the cd in. Boot it up . And Test Drive Linux Mint. Here is a link to the screenshot for Mint. You will notice that it won't install till you click on the "Install" icon. So you can run it without any changes being made to your computer at all. Thank u :) this did help me alot :) So im going to try that now and see how it turns out^^ and yeah :P dont need to change to boot from disk. I always keep it at that first for safty reasons^^
