Hello again, I can't seem to get any linux installed on my laptop unless it can boot from floppy and install via USB or USB CD-ROM drive. Have tried DSL and Puppy, but need more.....have Toshiba Portege 7000ct w/ 160MB RAM, 4GB HD, no cd drive, floppy, one usb port. I need to know of linux distro's that can boot from floppy and install from USB/USB CD-ROM/ or via internet install. Please help...

This is a exerpt from my tutorial on making a stand alone boot floppy. 1.I downloaded sbminst.exe (DOS executable) cwsdpmi.exe (support file) and formatted a 1.4mb floppy and installed those 2 downloads to floppy. Used the 3.7 column Smart Boot Manager Download http://btmgr.sourceforge.net/download.html 2.1. Restart the PC, boot from the floppy and run: A:\>sbminst 2. Read the displayed screen for guidance and run the following command: A:\>sbminst -t us -d 0 [make sure to put a space before -t, us, -d, 0][- is a dash, 0 is a zero] Enter Y when asked to confirm.
