Subject: Uninstall Linux OS
I bought a Dell laptop that has Linux OS installed on it. As much as I enjoy the Linux OS, I'm taking classes and need to be able to run .exe. I have the Windows XP OS ready to install but I'm not sure how I get Linux OS off my laptop. I've searched several sites for an explanation but it seems they all say I need to have the linux floppy that was used to install - I do not have this. Please help.

When you install XP, it will ask you if you want to reformat your drive, losing all the data there. That will remove Linux for you... However, you can also make your system dual-boot, or you can install a virtual machine manager, such as VirtualBox, and install Windows XP as a guest operating system, so you can run it at the same time as you are running Linux. That's what I would do, if it were my machine. In fact, I do this on my Linux box at home, as some applications I need to run are Windows-Only.

You could also see if your .exe program(s) will run under Linux using Wine.
