Subject: create a partition on my laptop
i have bought a new Toshiba laptop. the os is Win Xp. there is only one partition on my laptop C:. i would like to make two more such as D, and E. one of my friends advised me to use a linux base software. would you help me and let me know how i can do it? thanks,

There are also some free tools out there to do that, but you will have to do some research to find one that suits you. One of the issues is that you need to shrink the C: partition since it likely takes up the entire disc. Partition Magic can do that, but it can take some time as it has to move all the files on your C: drive out of the space where you will put the new ones. That said, I generally do not recommend that people put more than one working partition on a Windows boot drive, unless you are considering dual-booting the system so you can install another operating system.

Sometimes real fast is almost as good as real time. Remember, Google is your friend!
