I installed last version of ubuntu and can't connect to internet. i am getting confused with my ubuntu. I have a dsl modem to connect to internet

By that I mean are you physically plugged into a cable from computer to modem. Is this installed or are you just running as a live CD.

Type in the username and password and you will be connected to the internet I missed 100% of the shots I didn't take!! Linux for both newbies and experts, based on Ubuntu 8.10.
