Subject: Low wireless signal
Why wireless signal in any Linux distro`s /I was try *nuntu, Mandriva, Backtrack, gOS, Tilix, Debianm Fedora, Redhat/ is worse than wireless signal in Windows /Windows XP/. How can I fix the problem ? Thanks. Marsislav

How do you know the wireless signal is worse? The number of "bars" the desktop icon shows? Or is it the speed you get out of the adapter? If the latter, it might be that you have the wrong driver installed. For example, many Broadcom-based cards can use the native b43 driver, but a lot of systems have the legacy ndiswrapper version installed. So, you need to be more specific and perhaps do some investigation to see what card and driver you have installed. Personally, I haven't seen this problem on my Dell D630 laptop when I use Ubuntu 8.10.

The signal depends on the broadcast strength and your wireless card, not the operating system.
