Subject: How to reinstall windows xp in dual boot ???
Hello folks.. I have installed windows xp and fedora 8 on my system. But duo to some problem i want to format windows xp partition keeping fedora as it is. Once i tried sometime back but it was not detecting xp bootable cd. So plz tell me the steps which i need to follow at start of the installation. After that i have idea about how to install xp ?? Depends if your box uses sata hardrives or ide hardrives. Xp by itself has no sata drivers to boot up cd. I don't think XP supports Sata drives till SP2 or SP3. If you have ide hardrives just select cdrom boot first in bios boot order. Hard to answer Windows questions in a Linux forum. Not a lot of Windows users here. If you notice during a Windows install, There is a option at the very beginning about pressing F6 to install raid drivers at the bottom of the window. That is where you install a sata driver to boot up XP on a Sata drive computer. Hope that is what you wanted.
