About a week ago, I was using a usb floppy drive that didn't seem to like the system, and the system froze to where I had to manually turn it off, and when I had restarted, the top and bottom bars were gone. To me, it looks like Xfce is corrupted in some way, but I really wouldn't be one to know. If it sounds like Xfce is corrupted, is there a way I can reinstall it without reinstalling the distro? How else could I fix this? Thanks It's fun being a n00b.

Check you system to see if there is an old or backup copy of your Xorg.conf file. If there is, copy the current file to another name temporarily. Delete that and restart X. See if that helps. Or delete ~/.config altogether and restart X, it should reset the Dekstop to Xubuntu's defaults.
