will linux support a touch screen, tablet pc? I would like to buy one from a friend that does not have a hard drive. I have a 128gig solid state drive with slackware installed. I would like to know if it supports the touchscreen and the tblet features first though.

I don't know that any do "out-of-the-box", but there should be drivers for them. Have you searched (Google)? I'll see what I can find and edit this reply with the results. Ok. Here are some links. You should check them out since you didn't say anything as to the make/model of the system you are thinking of purchasing. 1. http://tldp.org/HOWTO/XFree86-Touch-Screen-HOWTO.html 2. http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/linux/library/l-playscreen/index.html 3. http://tuxmobil.org/touch_laptops.html 4. http://www.linux.org/docs/ldp/howto/XFree86-Touch-Screen-HOWTO.html I think that #1 and #4 share the same source material. In any case, this is the result of a simple google search on the terms "linux touch screen". In the future, please remember, "Google is your friend"!
