I am working with an OLPC XO G1G1 laptop and want to change my OS to provide me with better video and audio. I am looking at LINUX and thinking that Ubuntu maybe the best - but I'm not sure which version I should download. I'm very much a newbie and need some help please. Thanks - Maurice

Not owning one of these small Netbooks, my safest suggestion is to download the Xubuntu Alternate Install ISO. http://www.xubuntu.org/get#intrepid Alternate install ISO gives you more options when it comes to installation.

To get Linux, just go to a distribution's website (say Ubuntu, which is at www.ubuntu.com) Then go to the download page and download the CD as an ISO (a file that is a copy of a CD) Then follow the instructions here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BurningIsoHowto Have fun!
