What is the difference between "emerge -e" and "emerge -N" .. i know that "emerge -e" reinstalls all world packages using the new USE flags, but doesnt "emerge -N world" too?

I've never used Gentoo, but glancing at the man page for emerge (http://linuxreviews.org/man/emerge/), the difference seems to be that -N would be used if you change the USE flags individually on some packages, and want to recompile them based on the new flags, while leaving the rest of the system untouched, and -e is used to update your whole system to the currently set USE flags. "emerge -uDN system" and "emerge -uDN world" would do that too.
