Subject: graphics problems i think
Hello, I have installed Ubuntu (The newest verson). But im having a problem. Everytime im installing ATI/AMD proprietary FGLRX graphics driver. And this is after i newly installed the OS and did a full update on everything else. When i then install this driver and reboot my system, it boots on a normal way till the progress bar is at 100%. Then it turns black and it seems like im in a terminal for some reason. Im not use to those commands there nor can i remeber any. if there is someone out there to help a new linux user. then i pray for u ;)

The proprietary ATI drivers are in a sorry condition. So much so that my distro of choice, Arch Linux, has decided to stop packaging it in their official repos and hand it over to the community to maintain. http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=NzEwMg : I recommend seeing if the open source ATI driver will suit your needs. : http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php?title=Ubuntu_Intrepid_Installation_Guide
