Subject: canon printer pixma ip4600 linux
i need help in how to install ip4600. i have the driver from canon. eee pc is running konqueror.

You should be able to get support using gutenprint: http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=Canon-iP4600 : And apparently Canon distributes a linux driver through their european site, though I couldn't find the same through their U.S. site. http://software.canon-europe.com : Select linux as your OS, and use the debian package. Acutally, I'm assuming you're using the default OS for the eee pc, called Xandros, which is based on Debian. FYI: Konqueror is a file manager and web-browser, not your operating system. It's part of the KDE desktop environment.

I'm using the TurboPrint driver. Simple installation, great photo prints, works perfectly for me. It's commercial software but they have a 30 day trial.

The TGZ (TurboPrint) installed perfectly. The other packages (RPM or DEB) did not install.Thanks for your help.
