How do I restart the Synaptic package manager

jojo compas Joined: Feb 18, 2008 Posts: 20 Other Topics	Posted Apr 03, 2009 at 4:14:47 AM Subject: How do I restart the Synaptic package manager I have Ubuntu 8,04 installed While doing an upgrade my computer froze and the update was incomplete It's telling me to run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem. But I tried to run dpkg in terminal it keeps telling me commanf not found Because of this I can't do anymore updates can anyone help with this?

I gave the same command "sudo dpkg --configure -a" but console keeps showing error message, It further shows a XML schema/File error. ...... I have tried out everything but still package manager wont recover... So need some help, ..... Thanks
