I would like to start with Linux and boot it all from an external hard drive Now wich distro should i use for it.. I think i will use it the most on my own computer, this is the hardware: Intel Pentium 4 Dual 3.00 Ghz. 2992 MHz NVidia GeForce 9800GT 2.00 GB Physical Memory Wich one should i use ? Linux can offer a bewildering array of choices and in most cases there is no easy answer to "which distro is right for me" beyond saying, whichever one you like. Any of the major distros would be fine: Ubuntu, openSUSE, Fedora, Mandriva. Some of the better respected smaller distros could also be good, including Linux Mint, PCLinuxOS, or Mepis.
