Subject: please help me
i bought a desktop with a LINUX operating system. since it is my first encounter with this OS, i tried to explore it. i clicked system, then administration then screens and graphics, and a couple of clicks more trying to configure multiple screens, then i logged off and my screen resolution became 640x480 at 50hz. i have a 17" wide LCD monitor. i want to increase my screen resolution to 1024x768? please help me. thanks in advance.

Hey dude! What version of linux have you got??? ubuntu??? Have you got another screen that your trying to setup??? Sounds also like you may have chose the wrong display. If not then have you not tried to re trace your foot steps and change your screen res? ie system/hardware/screen res. (Depends on the version of course) Post some more details like what version. bener, have you tried reusing the System - Administration - Display tool to select the higher resolution? Try that and if that doesn't work get back to us. Also, why were you trying to configure two screens? Do you wish to run two screens? What graphics card do you have? And finally, what Linux distribution are you running? Thank you Sharma. Im no Jedi Master, but one day :D well i wasnt allowed to support linux where i last worked so this way i can get it out of my system :D Fedora aint bad dude, im getting used to it at the moment. Thanks again

Ha ha ha, yea who knows lol. Im looking into YUM at the moment as ive never used it and installing WINAMP was a severe pain in the neck!!! Take care dude
