Sound Problems.

It starts when I boot linux and get to the start up screen. The introductory sounds starts, and then it starts skipping and it doesn't stop. I have my computer on mute right now, but i'd like to listen to music later, ya know... actually use my sound.

I am running an HP Pavillion dv9000 120 GB (all in use with Ubuntu) AMD Durion 64 Nvidia Geforce Any other specs? When I open System>Prefrences>Sound I get two choices in the Default mixer tracks. HDA Nvidia (ALSA Mixer), and Conexant CX20549 (Venice) (OSS Mixer)
