Mike Ricciuti of CNET says Windows XP is "doomed" and that "most of us will likely be using Vista sometime in the near future" (see Microsoft: All roads lead to Vista). In contrast, Ina Fried of CNET writes that Windows XP may get another reprieve, the title referring to the fact that major computer manufacturers are slated to stop selling Windows XP in June. Who's right?

Vista is the best if you run on MB. at least core 2 duo 2.0ghz.
My PC-Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz LGA 775 Processor and 512 mb Nvidia video card never have any problem with Vista Ultimate

Try Mandrivia 2008 1 and use the 3D desktop you will see how dated XP is and how wrong MS got it with Vista !

Uhh.. Windows XP is "SUCKS",
Windows VISTA is good in visual look, but you must have good VGA to run it well,
but LINUX is the best for multimedia and for works. It play music when I point my cursor on mp3 file. IT'S AWESOME!!
XP = sucks
VISTA = too heavy
LINUX = best

Windows XP has never disappointed, sure it may be badly designed and too resource intensive but it still is a good OS and its a shame to see it replaced.
Vista is too resource intensive but now with SP1 actually has become great, regretably, it is the future. Whats the necessesity to change? Eye candy, its a shame.
Ubuntu is clean and I admit can integrate well into a normal environment with brilliant free software. If the wine emulator is 100% compatible with windows programs there seems little reason to use windows.

too easy linux owns microsoft sux and plus linux is 0.00-2.00 :) so ya get linux definitely
