Vietnam to roll out 5000 Linux PCs for public schools

Larry Nguyen writes: "CMC Group, a software company in Vietnam, has won the bid to roll out 5000 Linux PCs for public schools in 61 provinces. CMC has released its localized Linux distribution which is based on Red Hat Linux. The public schools will be using Linux with a locallized OpenOffice.org version. Also from the post the government had approved funding for developing OSS in Vietnam. Usages of OSS in government branches, agencies are also being considered.
