You use this video card driver?

I might be mistaken but if I'm not; I'm pretty sure a Development team puts out a laptop edition of every distribution of Debian. I'm not sure if there's a Lenny edition yet but I did hear about it.
Try to find it and see if it works. If it doesn't; try etch and upgrade to Lenny from there.
