Linux XP? Is that one of those distributions that tries to look like Windows for new Linux users? Ok. I just looked it up. Seems it is a Russian distribution intended for use by Russian speaking people. Is that the case? Sorry, but I'm not familiar with it. Anyway, which version are you running? From what I see on DistroWatch, the 4.0 version seems reasonably up to date.

You mean that you start your computer and in order for it to detect your sound card you need to reboot it?
