Linux xp sound problem

i always encoutered this problem from my old lga775 motherboard ..

i already updated my linux xp.. even do i'm using a linux xp 10.10

Try giving us the output of:

lspci | grep -i audio

and maybe we can help you. Do the above in a terminal. Since it seems to be Ubuntu based (the 10.10 sort of gives it away), you might need to do:

sudo lspci | grep -i audio
