Bios flash update

Link to this post 05 May 12

I need some help finding a free bios update for my hp media center tower with a phoenix motherboard Pentium D 3.00Ghz dual core. I have 2 towers and the other is running Fedora, but the tower I need the help on is running Win 7 ultimate. The HP site branches me to a third party charging $30 for something that should be free. I am scared to try a manual bios code entry cause I am unfamiliar with this process. I've never had any problems with Dells on this matter cause they were always offered as part of the standard windows update check. Any help would be much appreciated. I have 8 GB ram installed, but my motherboard will only recognize 6GB

Reasons why I (and my company) don't buy HP gear... :-( So, what has Google shown you? Anyway, post the full make + model + options (motherboard + CPU) and anything else you can think of, and we will see what we can find. In any case, I agree that a bios upgrade should be free.
