Hello, They call me Omec, I'm going to be a pest on here for a while because this is my first transition from windows to a Linux OS. I like the idea of keeping an older, or newer computer running! To me this is way more 'green' than throwing a computer away, especially if one has spent a small fortune on the computer with 'quality' parts and the only thing wrong with it is a soon to be unsupported OS. I've been a successful parts swapper, just because I would rather do it myself, but now I would like to learn a little more. I think Linux will help me understand programming and hardware communication more. So here we go.
