I also apologize for not being diplomatic but I am the type that gives what I get.
Having said that I give you my thanks and respect because your response actually pointed me in the right direction.

Hello all
The title pretty much says it all. I have a belkin usb network hub that is well integrated in win7 but since I ditched micro$haft for a much better option I was hoping to find someone who might know of drivers developed for this device. I am a novice at Linux but willing to learn. If no drivers are available how about some sort of modification to the device or firmware?

I am experienced with linux as an end user on the desktop and laptop platforms.
I want to explore linux more thoroughly because with in 6 months I want to use it as my primary OS.
I also have an idea for a business project that could very well use linux in an embedded form which brings me to my next question
Where would I place the post posing such a question so that it gets into the right hands and minds to possibly help me
I just want to make sure I do not post in the wrong area
My idea is involving an embedded OS device to monitor web traffic from a DSL or cable jack in a home
Something like a hacked router or switch might work for R and D

this may seem like a dumb question but doesn't the video or graphics adapter handle the same job in a live dvd boot?
I can run from a live dvd just fine but the lilo config is giving problems
sorry I am a WINtard trying to mend my ways

I am trying slampp and have run into issues configuring lilo.
the zenwalk file installer completes then when it takes me to configure lilo I do everything as expected but I keep getting an installation failure
I check the log file and all it refers to is a "splash bitmap"
the last line on the report says "fatal: unsupported bitmap"
if someone could give me an idea or a work around I would greatly appreciate it
