    trouble with USB camera sound
    Hi guys!, I am using an iball c8.0 [url]http://www.iball.co.in/Product/Face2Face-C8-0--Rev-3-0-/90[/url] on Raspbian(actually Raspbian Wheezy to be more specific). My lsusb report is , lsusb Bus 001 Device 002: ID 0424:9512 Standard Microsystems Corp. Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0424:ec00 Standard Microsystems Corp. Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0c45:6340 Microdia I tried using motion software for motion detection and it is working fine. The problem is that I also want to use the inbuilt mic for audio input. The camera has a built in mic but I get the following error while recording. arecord -B 120000 -D "hw:CARD=1,DEV=0" -r 25000 -c 2 -f S16_LE file_2ch.wav -v Recording WAVE 'file_2ch.wav' : Signed 16 bit Little Endian, Rate 16000 Hz, Stereo arecord: set_params:1087: Channels count non available also my device description is as follows: arecord -l **** List of CAPTURE Hardware Devices **** card 1: Camera [USB 2.0 Camera], device 0: USB Audio [USB Audio] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 Also the camera is backward compatible with USB 1.1 (donno whether this information will be useful) also, cat /proc/asound/cards 0 [ALSA ]: BRCM bcm2835 ALSbcm2835 ALSA - bcm2835 ALSA bcm2835 ALSA 1 [Camera ]: USB-Audio - USB 2.0 Camera Sonix Technology Co., Ltd. USB 2.0 Camera at usb-bcm2708_u Please help!....Thanx in adavance!!
