Epson SX215 Printer

Link to this post 22 Dec 10

:( Hi Guys and Girls.
I wish to ask if any of you know where I can find the drivers and software for a Epson SX215 to use on Linux Mint as I find the Linux software to be tops:) , but I have a printer which I brought new just before I changed to Linux as I was pissed with MS windows  after it crashed for the 5th time in 7 months, along with the endless requests to confirm the license number.
Printer software will not load or start to load and it tells not that it is not compatible.

A driver for your printer is available at http://avasys.jp/eng/linux_driver/download/lsb/epson-inkjet/escpr/ , I found the site by following the discussion at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1259328

Refresh my memory, isn't there a site that list all printers with opensource drivers?

http://www.linuxfoundation.org/collaborate/workgroups/openprinting is run by the linux foundation and is the best source of information to check for printer and driver compatibility, however in this case it does not list the poster's printer, so I had to look further.

FWIW, the Avasys.jp web site is the official Epson Linux support site. You can get the CUPS and LPR drivers there for most Epson printers and scanners.
