The SMB or Samba service sets your system up to share directories and printers with windows computers through the windows sharing protocol. Once you have your system properly confirgured to communicate with a windows smb shared directory then you can mount it to any directory in your Linux file system that you wish. Once that is setup you can use a GUI or CLI utility to move and copy files.
