You can change the bootloader to not prompt the recovery mods option or not prompt the menu when the computer boots. Read the grub2 documentation to get directions for that task - https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Grub2
In my case I completely removed recovery mode from my system because it can be activated from a livecd if necessary.
