ubuntu 9.04 wireless issue

Link to this post 25 May 09

Hi recently installed Ubuntu 9.04 via Wubi ... but for some reason it does not allow me to get onto my secured wireless network.

it detects it and i am able to connect wired but when i try to connect to my wireless network it keeps asking for a password/key ... i enter it but it keeps prompting for it

not sure what i need to do ... when i go into the properties of my wireless connection i try to make changes but it does not take them

i have a Asus notebook A8S series with Vista ... my wireless works in Vista

i used the command lspci -nn and my wireless card is Intel Pro\wireless 4965 AG or AGN

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-laptop-and-netbook-25/problem-with-lenovo-r61thinkpad-debian-5.0-lenny-wireless-configuration-725212/ reports that the firmware-iwlwifi driver is what you need. The Ubuntu kernel includes the correct support; what you are missing is the correct firmware. Wire up and install firmware-iwlwifi or put it on removal media from another system and install it that way.
