This book is a perfect introduction to Ubuntu. It provides good information for beginners. Additionally, those who are already familiar with Linux systems will find that the book is very informative. Even if you're very familiar with Ubuntu you will find some insightful information, and this book might be useful on your bookshelf.

On the other hand, the 3rd edition covers older versions of Ubuntu, so you'd better get the 4th edition! http://www.amazon.com/Official-Ubuntu-Book-Benjamin-Mako/dp/0137021208

It even comes with Ubuntu on a DVD!
