I'm curious as to what programs you use to produce the video casts.

How come if I click the "Download the OGG version" it takes me to a page which plays it, on blip.tv, instead of letting me just.. well.. you know... DOWNLOAD the file???

Those slides aren't anything special... and are included by default with MacOSX.

This would be more convenient as a podcast.

Hi folks,

@ Norberto - Scott's right, they come prepackaged with Leopard as part of the screen saver packages. (well, and Tiger too). They're beautiful, I agree. If you're looking for more fantastic space images, there's some great ones at NasaSpaceFlight.com (I'm not affiliated with them, just a big fan).

@ the last Anonymous - Funny you should say that. We've kicked around the podcast idea several times and I'd be happy to do that. We've also talked about doing some live interactive types of things too. Think there'd be enough interest for either or both idea?

@ the first Anonymous - We use a lot of different editors around here. At the moment, I use iMovie to edit (which is not particularly useful or good but works with my company issued Mac Book Pro). Kino works well for a lot of things and is very useful, but I often edit out of the office on the laptop. The one thing I've had a lot of trouble with is converting files to OGG (as you may have guessed). I used Simple Theora Encoder for a long time and it worked well -- then suddenly stopped. I'm all ears on what other app to try instead (something that will work well on Ubuntu or OpenSUSE).

Hello Lisa, The shows are getting better every time keep up the good work. I like the video format vs Podcast but some times podcasts are good too, better for listening to on the ride to work. Maybe an audio only OGG of the show for download as well?

Thanks, Anon. :-) The growing pains while we've been learning what works and what doesn't have been a challenge but I'm pretty pleased at how it's coming together too. Let me see what I can do about stripping the audio to package separately in both formats. Keep the ideas coming, folks! :-)
