zim - a desktop wiki for Ubuntu Linux

Zim is a WYSIWYG text editor. It aims at bringing the concept of a wiki to your desktop. For example every page is saved as a text file with wiki markup. Pages can contain links to other pages, and are saved automatically.

Interesting - I think this is a trademark violation. ZIM is an entity-relational database created by Zanthe (a Canadian software company) which was later sold to Sterling Software. I don't know who owns it now, but I used it extensively in the 80's and 90's to handle complex database needs for the US Navy's RAMP project, and manufacturing cell control applications at GM and other major manufacturers. Maybe they should consider changing the name?
