Microsoft is posting code to its much-trumpeted CodePlex open-source projects site using licenses and conditions that go against the principles of open source.

What shocks me is that people area actually surprised by that. Microsoft's entire playbook is illegal and immoral. They have never made an honest buck. Why would they stop now?

The key phrase here is 'tied to Windows'. How could MS full-heartedly support anything less, without blowing apart their business model?
