Subject: want to get a job in the linux world ....

I am a test engineer (hardware) and I have 12 years experience. I have a BSEE and an MSEE.

I want to get a job in the Linus world for my next career.
I am studying for the Linux+ exam now. I have put together a Linux laptop running SuSe 10.1.
I am working a a mail server running SuSe 10.3 as well.
My question is -- what would need to learn to work in the linux world? C/C++? Perl? Python?

Please help!!

It's very difficult to answer that question. Especially because I don't know what you want to do. Do you wish to write code? If so, you'd need to have good programming logic, and be very comfortable with one language. If you wish to be an system/network administrator, you'd need to be comfortable running and troubleshooting servers (web, mail, ftp, etc). You don't necessarily need to know any programming language to get a Linux job, although a little programming skill might help you do your job better, you know :)

I sugjest Java, but considering that java programmering is one of the most called for jobs in the world. But thats just me. I'm learning that stuff, but I get my stuff from the library, its free! Not the certifications, the books that help you pass.

Just like Shashank said it all depends on what you want to do.
If you want to be a Systems Administrator you would have to be good a troubleshooting...
As for a scripting language which I feel every Sysadmin should know at least one, I would say Python or Perl or BOTH :).
