I am new to linux and I have never used or seen wine used. I'd like to know a bit about the performance of high performance applications while running on wine. Help me out!!! Thanks a lot guys.

As it isn't an emulator, it should run them at 'full speed'. I don't experience any of the stuff I use it for :\| as for which stuff can it run, they have a DB for that, head on over to www.winehq.org If you're on Linux already, just grab it and test it out...
