Subject: Configuring Syncmaster Screen To 1280 X 800

Hi,

I am running Open Suse and have a Samsung Syncmaster 2032BW, and I believe that the ideal resolution would be 1280 x 800.

I am currently running on a resolution of 1024 x 768, which is the only thing that seems to work with SaX2.

The graphics card is given as Vendor:VIA Technologies, Inc.Model:S3 Unichrome Pro VGA Adapter. The Syncmaster is not an option in the SaxT configuration, so I am using what I think is the nearest Samsung model – actually, any model seems to work.

The problem is that SaxT won't allow me to change the resolution to 1280 x 800, and any attempt to do so gives me the message that it β€œis not support by the graphics card framebuffer.”

Is this just the case with my graphics card – am I stuck with a maxmum 1024 x 768 resolution, or is there anything I can do to change this?

Regards,

Dave

I believe that's the max resolution supported by your graphics card. Do you have the proper drivers installed?
