What sort of hacking ?
If you are a programmer, I offer you a Source-based distro like Gentoo 2008.0
If you'r interesting in collections of utilities : OpenSUSE 11
Some experts offer : Slackware 12.1

I personally prefer : OpenSUSE 11 beside FreeBSD 7

You hack what? What do you mean you are a hacker? I'm sorry to be blunt but you don't sound like any hacker. What does "works of hacking" mean? If you mean programming and coding, couldn't you just call it that!?!

If you were a hacker, you would not talk about it. Look for "computer security forums". Backtrack is a good distro, that can be installed from the backtrack 3 beta disk. you are barking up the wrong tree if you are also looking for "hacking programs" script kiddies use programs real computer security experts use tools. get to know your linux file systems, and also have a good understanding of the way computers work in the first place. You have to know how a program or service works if you want to exploit it. If you are still interested, start reading 2600 and the online magizne called PHRACK www.phrack.com. But the most important thing is to know your basics otherwise you will get flamed on forums and IRC channels.

If you're a hacker in the "traditional" sense of the word, then definitely go with Gentoo or Slackware.

On the other hand, if you're a hacker in the modern sense, go with BackTrack.
