(..moved from new to linux forum..)
We use several Toshiba E-Studio Multifunction printers within our company. We use them primarily for print services and scan-to-network functionality. One of the Toshiba MFPs currently has Linux 2.4.31-1.33-b
The Toshiba accesses a file share on a win2k fileserver (called "server01") where we store scanned documents.
The Toshiba access \\server01\share\scan using an account called "toshiba" in a domain called "OLD".
The OLD domain really really needs to go away.. *cough NT4 cough*.
I am trying to setup the Toshiba to use a local machine account on server01.
The local machine account is called "toshibatest". Toshibatest is a local administrator account and has sufficient priviledges to access the share folder.
I have an ubuntu computer I've used to verify that the server01\toshibatest account has access to the \\server01\share\scan folder where the Toshiba stores our scanned documents. I mounted the \\server01\share\scan folder and can create/modify/delete files from the ubuntu computer using the server01\toshibatest account credentials.
The Toshiba's web interface only has username and password fields to specify the account credentials it will use to gain access to the path specified.
It has always successfully authenticated using toshiba/OLD
My question is: how do i specify that the toshiba is to use the local machine account \\server01\toshibatest?
i've tried variations of:
toshibatest
toshibatest/server01
toshibatest/SERVER01
server01\toshibatest
SERVER01\toshibatest
\\server01\toshibatest
Upper level toshiba tech support has shrugged and said "You will need to authenticate thru a domain". I think they just dont know how to correctly provide authentication for a local machine account but i bet someone who reads this forum knows.
Thanks for any help!!
