Home Learn Linux Linux Answers Drivers I have a Kensington Orbit Trackball with Scroll Ring that I would like to use on my Linux Ubuntu 11.10 operating system, is there a driver which will allow this?
  • It should work when you plug it in, you shouldn't have to install anything. It's known to work on Ubuntu.

I have to ask if you've tried it yet and if you have check that the mouse works on anouther OS or computer.

FYI - Searching for drivers in Ubuntu Software Centre will not yeild results in most cases as most drivers are included. Only proprietary ones like Nvidia and AMD graphics drivers require installation for the most part.

Please tell me if it works or not after tring these thigs if you haven't already.

  • The Kensington Orbit Trackball with Scroll Ring works on OpenSuse 13.2.
There are no drivers required. I would like to have the ability to adjust the amount of scrolling, but I haven't found that setting yet.
