Most distros should work for you. The limiting factor is the desktop environment. Full-featured DEs such as KDE and Gnome (I believe Zorin is Gnome-based) will struggle on your machine, so I would recommed a distro that comes with something like Xfce, LXDE or Fluxbox. My personal preference would be Linux Mint Xfce Edition, as it's a well integrated system that works flawlessly with no tinkering required. If you enjoy tinkering, I'd say Arch is the way to go, as it lets you set everything up exactly as you like it, but many people find it a bit scary. |

I am using Linux Mint Maya with Mate. Currently I am using ed that I have not exceeded 700mb and that only rarely. |
