While I haven't used the parallel to usb adapter, I would recomend using the hplip tools by themselves and letting them add your printer to CUPS. Seems like more people have success with hp-setup (run it with sudo) than doing it through the CUPS screen. Either way can get your printer functioning, but the raw HP tools seem to find devices better. |
