You can not upgrade your OS through another download: you have to create another live disk and install from that. The Ubuntu website will give you great instructions for the live disk if you need it. |

Is it a new Dell Laptop with old release of Ubuntu!! If it is new one, better contact to vendor where from u purchased this and ask them for help. 2nd way,(if it is an old laptop) the easiest way is to back up ur all personal data and do a clean install. If u tried with Update Manager, it may be lead to a mess. |
