Home Learn Linux Linux Answers Desktop What does loading second stage bootstrap mean?
  • Bootstrap is the motherboard controller/startup program.

Many modern motherboards come with a backup version "second stage bootstrap" in case the motherboard Bios gets corrupted by viruses or power surges etc.
This i would guess is what has occured in your case.

You could just live with it or try to update your Bios (fairly technical)
'Flashing' your Bios needs someone who knows what they are doing as it could end up killing your computer.
