  • Mite short on information Grant.
    Best suggestion imo would be to ditch an old release candidate and try Kali linux
    which would have been BackTrack 6 but developers decided to restructure.

  • you installed it directly on your computer ?
    I would recommend running it inside a virtualizer like Virtualbox.

    You could follow the instructions here to learn how.
    Install Backtrack on Virtualbox
