Home Learn Linux Linux Answers Desktop How to partition drive for installation?

You don't mention where you are attempting to do the full install from.
If from installation already on your machine, partitioning will fail as partitioning can NOT be done on a mounted drive.

If from liveCD/USB then probably a glitch in the installer.

Having had bad experiences in past with installer/partitioners I pre-partition disk before running install media then choose 'custom install' or 'use existing partitions'.

    Gparted works well for this-
