Hi, I have an Acer Aspire One, running Slackware 12.2. The graphics device in this machine is identified as follows:

What I would like to do is use this machine for talks and stuff, so would like to connect it to a projector (or external monitor, because sometimes I use those as well), but without having to restart X. Also, I want the output from the machine to be on both the netbook's screen and on the external monitor/projector simultaneously. I also have the problem that when I've got an external monitor or projector connected, the display doesn't fit on the netbook's screen (i.e. the bottom part of it is cut off). The full display is shown on the monitor or projector, though.

What's the best way to do all this?
