  • open a terminal and type sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras That will work if you are using ubuntu, if it is xubuntu it would be sudo apt-get install xubuntu-restricted-extras You did not mention what distro or version of Linux you are using I just assumed it was ubuntu.

    Distribution and media file type (i.e. mp3)
