Doug Fisher, VP of Intel's software and services group, discusses the history of Moblin, from its June, 2007 origins as an open source project, to its early use by netbook OEMs and Linux distributors, to its eventual adoption by the Linux Foundation itself. He then delves into the "user experience," Intel's acquisition of OpenedHand and the Clutter UI, and the press reaction to early releases of the software. Finally, he gives a nifty video demo of the innovative "MyZone" Moblin UI experience.
