The Moblin Garage and App Installer aim to help users to find and install both free and commercial apps. The initial implementation appears promising.
A "Preview" version of the Installer is included in the Moblin v2.1 Developer Release that launched last week. I installed and tested that release on an Asus EEE Seashell. (The Installer preview is also available for the allegedly more stable Moblin 2.0 release -- see bottom of story for a download link)...
